They take the test
Six sections in about 85 minutes, on a laptop or desktop with Chrome or Edge and a headset with a microphone. In one sitting, or with breaks between sections if you allow them.
You get results
A level for every skill, a report, a certificate with a QR code, and the courses each person needs to reach your target.
What the test covers
Six skills, each with its own section and its own clock.

It adjusts to each person
The test responds to each person's answers as they go, so a strong candidate is stretched and a weaker one is not buried in questions far above them. That is how one test of about 85 minutes can place people accurately anywhere from beginner to advanced.
How answers are marked
Grammar, vocabulary, reading and listening are marked by our server the moment they are answered. The correct answers never reach the associate's browser.
Writing and speaking are marked by AI against OTO's own criteria, among them accuracy, range, organisation, pronunciation and fluency. The written work and a transcript of what was said stay in the report, so your team can see what the level rests on.
Where the level puts its emphasis
The overall level leans toward speaking and writing, because those are the skills people use most at work. Every skill still has its own result in the report, and the report names the weakest one, because an overall level can hide a single weak spot.

What happens during the test
The test opens in full screen on the associate's own click, after a screen that explains the rules. Copy, paste, right-click and autocorrect are switched off inside it. Leaving the test is counted: the first time shows a warning, and the second pauses the test until your team decides whether it continues. Nobody is failed automatically.
